8 days to get challenged and inspired during an intensive week of dance and music.
 
5 composers and 5 choreographers are selected by the Choerosound 09 reference group. 

10 dancers and 10 musicians have been chosen to participate.
 
2 mentors will be monitoring the process.
 
Master Classes will given by experienced choreographers/composers who have worked with dance and music plus a number of labs, working sessions, dance concerts, and a lot more.

 

Artistic Director, choreographer Marika Hedemyr is working on the details for the week.

 

Working groups

Participants will work together in groups of six: one choreographer, one composer, two dancers and two musicians, on a rotating schedule to allow a lot of new collaboration options.

 

What is the difference between participating as choreographer or dancer, composer or musician?

 

The program of the lab week is open to all participants. We all come with our own experiences and perspectives. The main difference is in the working sessions, where we have different roles. It will be up to each composer and choreographer to choose their working methods when working with dancers and musicians.

It is an interesting issue how we view the relation between composer – musician, choreographer – dancer. There are issues of interpretation, degree of involvement in the creation process, relation to the work/piece/score, and a lot more. Within contemporary dance there is a wide variety in how choreographers work with their dancers, or choose to perform themselves. Likewise is there a wide variety within contemporary music. We will continue this discussion during the week.

Seminars in the morning, lab in groups in the afternoons. Dance concerts on a volontary basis in the evenings.
